Fire Safety Training – FLAMMe®

Learn the right actions to take in the event of a fire in just 1 hour

The FLAMME® training from Cube Services combines virtual reality and practical exercises to instill the right reflexes in the event of a fire in 1 hour. This ensures that everyone can adopt the correct behavior in an emergency and save lives.

Under extreme stress, the rational brain stops functioning

In a matter of seconds, the reptilian brain takes over. Its reactions are unpredictable: it makes you attack (fight), run away (flee), or freezes you in place (freeze). In all three cases, it puts your life in danger.

100%

less reasoning capacity under extreme stress.

90%

of the population loses their composure when faced with real danger.

70%

of your field of vision is reduced. You can only see straight ahead (tunnel vision).

When faced with a fire, only 3 actions truly matter

Whether a computer catches fire in an office, a pallet in a warehouse, or a microwave in a nursery, only three behaviors are truly useful for immediate action and to avoid disaster.

Alert

emergency services and guide them correctly for a rapid and effective intervention.

Evacuate

the fire site while ensuring the safety of everyone present on-site.

Fight

the fire, without putting yourself in danger and when possible, using a fire extinguisher.

Learn and integrate the right behaviors in the event of a fire in 1 hour

The FLAMME® training from Cube Services (Fun Training for Learning Maneuvers and Methods in the Face of Fire) is the training that allows for a deep and real anchoring of appropriate actions in an emergency.

Our active immersion approach combines virtual reality and practical exercises to enable long-term memorization of the right behaviors to adopt. Thus, our participants create reflexes applicable even under stress, ensuring their safety in an emergency.

The 3 pillars of FLAMME® training

Practice to integrate the essentials

Forget long theories: our training is designed around concrete practical situations and includes only strictly essential information. Thus, each participant can effectively integrate the 3 key behaviors and use them in the event of a fire.

Virtual reality training
virtual reality equipment for firefighters

VR immersion to experience the emergency without danger

Each participant is immersed in a credible fire situation customized to their work environment. This "life-size" experience allows them to learn how to manage stress and anchor the right actions as close to reality as possible, without any danger.

Repetition to anchor reflexes

In addition to being immersed as close to reality as possible, each participant repeats different fire situations several times. In this way, they repeat the right actions so that they become automatic.

Training course outline

1 hour. 4 participants. 3 rotating stations. Directly at your premises.

Introduction

We explain the sequence of modules and the topics covered during this hour.

  • Overview of the 3 stations
  • Presentation of the training logic
Module 1: The danger of smoke and emergency numbers in Switzerland

On an interactive tablet, you explore the mechanisms of fire and the often underestimated dangers of smoke.

  • How things burn (fire triangle)
  • Actions that allow a fire to be extinguished
  • How a fire extinguisher works
  • When to use a fire extinguisher
  • Attack tactics
  • What to do if the fire persists
  • Domestic oil fire
  • Video on using a fire blanket
  • Dangers and characteristics of smoke
  • Final quiz and reminders
Module 2: About the alarm message to 118

You learn to alert emergency services clearly and usefully.

  • What to do when witnessing a fire?
  • Who to call and what to tell them?
  • Secure the area and evacuate if possible
  • What to do if evacuation is not possible
  • What to do during an extinction attempt
  • Guide the emergency services and provide the right information
  • Final quiz
VR Fire Immersion

The central module of the training. With the headset on and extinguisher in hand, you are immersed in a realistic situation.

  • Learn to use a fire extinguisher in a concrete way
  • Practice situations repeatedly to anchor the right reflexes and create automatic responses
  • Make a mistake and understand through practice what you can do better to save lives in a real situation

* In pairs: 13 min of VR immersion each, alternating between immersion and securing.
Conclusion and presentation of certificates

The training concludes with a collective review of what has been learned and the presentation of a certificate of participation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. VR scenarios are selected based on your business sector, risks, and work environment. Office, warehouse, construction site, transport, school, shop: everything is done for an immersion as close to reality as possible.

The training accommodates 4 participants simultaneously, rotating through the different stations. For larger teams, several sessions can be organized in parallel on the same day.

Generally, a classic fire extinguisher training gives you basic theoretical notions and the opportunity to empty an extinguisher on a fire. That said, knowing how an extinguisher works is only a small part of what your teams need to do in an emergency.

The FLAMME® training from Cube Services aims to prepare you for the entire behavior to adopt in the event of a fire. Above all, our practical approach aims to anchor reflexes that will be truly useful in an emergency, namely:

  • Alerting emergency services and guiding them correctly
  • Evacuating the fire site safely
  • Using a fire extinguisher without putting lives in danger

Very little. Our team comes to you with all the necessary equipment: VR headsets, connected extinguishers, tablets. You just need to provide a space of about 40m² (with a large screen if available) and mobilize your employees according to the agreed schedule.

Yes: each participant receives a certificate of participation at the end of the training.

In a word: Yes.

According to the Fire Protection Standard of the Association of Cantonal Fire Insurance Companies (VKF/AEAI), owners and operators of buildings and other structures “must ensure that the persons in their charge are trained and act with the necessary precautions in the event of a fire” (Art. 21).

This standard also includes:

  • “Owners and operators are responsible for ensuring that all necessary measures are taken, in terms of organization and personnel, to guarantee sufficient fire safety” (Art. 55)
  • “When the danger of fire, the number of occupants, the type or size of the operation require it, a fire protection safety officer must be designated and trained, reporting directly to the owner or the management of the company.” (Art. 56)

In addition, the VKF/AEAI Fire Protection Directive specifies:

  • “Company personnel must be informed and instructed on the specific fire hazards in the operation, on the fire protection equipment in place, and on the behavior to adopt in the event of a fire.” (Art. 3.1, paragraph 4)
  • “Fire protection safety officers ensure fire safety within the framework of the applicable regulations and their job description. It is their responsibility to verify that the provisions relating to construction, fire protection equipment, and organization have been taken and remain applied.” (Art. 4.3.1, paragraph 1)
  • “The fire protection safety officer: […]
    • is responsible for fire prevention and fire safety in the company; […]
    • supervises organizational fire protection measures concerning personnel; […]
    • ensures the training of personnel regarding the use of firefighting devices;” (Art. 4.3.2)
  • “Employees must be instructed in the operation and handling of firefighting devices.” (Art. 6.4, paragraph 2)

Yes. FLAMME® training meets the prevention and training requirements set out by Swiss laws, standards, and directives (in addition to anchoring truly useful reflexes in emergency situations).
